We all want to be treated fairly and justly.
Fairness is a basic need that we as humans rightly demand. However, I have the impression that fairness is often neglected, especially in difficult situations. It is far too easy to put it aside for a moment. Fairness is particularly important in working life, when teamwork and collaboration are essential. We currently have two issues, inflation and labor shortages, whose combination can lead directly to lasting unfairness.

How, you ask?
Inflation forces us all to earn more or tighten our belts. That's not fair, because none of us hard-working people in the valley caused it. What's more, there is somehow a shortage of qualified workers everywhere. Unfortunately, I have heard more than once that new employees are paid considerably more than loyal ones. And while this is perfectly legitimate for the individual and may lead to a more numerous team in the short term, it also leads directly and sustainably to injustice.

This makes it all the more important for companies to find answers to these challenging questions. One thing is clear to us: we do not want these injustices in our company.

For almost two years now, we have been working intensively on our team, our structure and fairness in the BGF project GEMEINSAMER NENNER. We are making great progress. I am deeply convinced that we can only overcome the current challenges if we all pull together. And that is exactly where we are starting from October 1, 2023 with #fairness, our future-oriented, fair and transparent salary & career model.

The roles at Sport Nenner are clearly defined. Overall, our
career model comprises three stages and a transparent development plan for career changers.

Team supporter:in

As a team supporter, you help wherever you can. You will gradually find your specialist area in which you excel and have the opportunity to advance to (specialist) consultant.

(Specialist) consultant:in

As a career changer, you start as a consultant and develop into a specialist consultant. If you come from a sporting goods retail background, you can start directly as a specialist consultant.

There are many opportunities to develop yourself further and become a true professional in your field. Are you looking for a special challenge? Then many paths are open to you with the necessary zeal!

Area manager:in &
Area representative:in

As a divisional manager and their deputy, you excel in your field. You have a lot of scope for decision-making and, as a divisional manager, you also take on management tasks. Your area of responsibility and tasks is diverse and yet close to the customer!

#competence

Competence and experience play a key role in specialist retail. This is precisely why we demand and promote specialist knowledge and experience. In a further expansion stage of our salary & career model, you will therefore be able to further increase your salary by acquiring valuable skills.

Responsibility sets you free! And it's nothing to be afraid of. With additional scope for decision-making, you are the master of your own area and play an active role in shaping it! Are you a natural IT talent, for example? Then use your skills and take on additional tasks in the IT area! This also has a direct impact on your salary in Sport Nenner 's new #fairness salary & career system. In addition to IT support, there are of course many other opportunities open to you!

#loyalty

Loyalty and reliability are the be-all and end-all in a challenging environment! The longer you stay with Sport Nenner , the more everyone benefits. That's why loyalty is an integral part of our salary and career model.

56,000 hours!

That's how much time our team spends in the stores every year, doing a great job. This is precisely why our #fairness salary & career model is fully dedicated to our team in the local stores.

100% surcharge

In retail, Sundays and public holidays are paid twice (100% surcharge). As a rule, this supplement is an important part of the regular salary.

and has been working as a salesperson in a sports store for several years.

With Sport Nenner , my basic salary for 40 hours/week is at least

€ 2,350 - € 2,550 gross

and is therefore always well above the collective agreement!

I also have many opportunities*1 to significantly increase my salary myself:

  • #competence: Take advantage of training and specialization opportunities to become an expert in my field
  • #responsibility: Take over your own area with your own scope for decision-making
  • #loyalty: As a loyal Sport Nenner employee, I also receive a fixed bonus on top of my basic salary in addition to anniversary payments
  • #career: There are always opportunities for advancement for me - as a divisional representative or divisional manager, all doors are open to me

 

My usual monthly salary*2 is even higher due to bonuses on Sundays and public holidays and is therefore on average between

€ 3,002 - € 3,249 gross

plus vacation and Christmas bonus *3

€ 2,205 - € 2,359 net

plus vacation and Christmas bonus *3

*1 We are only at the beginning: we would be happy to talk to you personally about the opportunities that will open up over the next few years!

*2 Explanations for example: We have calculated a realistic example, assuming a basic salary of € 2,350 - € 2,550 for 40 hours/week and a 5-day week in which you regularly work every second Sunday and public holiday. Vacation and Christmas bonuses are not included here and will of course be added! The example is intended to provide better comparability in practice. So you know what you can roughly expect. We would be happy to discuss this in detail for your case! Please note that this is a non-binding estimate based on the applicable tax for 2023.

*3 Vacation & Christmas bonus: In Austria there is vacation pay and Christmas bonus (13th and 14th salary). If you want to compare your gross salary internationally (especially with Germany), you have to compare the following monthly salary: € 3,371 - € 3,658 gross or € 2,502 - € 2,680 net.
